Calendar of Community Events: Live!
Ready for making those summer plans?! Check out our “Community Events” page under the tab “Events.”
WHAT THIS IS
You’ll see direct links to the calendar pages of organizations in our area that have great events that could be a great fit for you and your loved one.
If organizations don’t have a readily available calendar to link, you may be directed to their FaceBook page where they post their events. Otherwise, we have a form for organizations to fill out, “Submit Your Event,” so we can then plug them into the main calendar (on the page below the organization links).
WHY IS IT LIKE THIS?
As a tiny-but-mighty volunteer nonprofit, we simply don’t have the time to plug ALL potential events we all may wish to attend into our calendar every month, perpetually. (Just look at Parks and Rec accessABLE for starters!) Also, as I was contemplating how to do this so it 1.) is actually helpful for us all, and 2.) realistic to maintain:
I am hoping that you, like me, know which organization’s events you typically enjoy, and this page can serve as your quick, easy, accessible one-stop-shop location to find exactly what you want to fit into your schedule. (Or easily find other events you may want to add to your repertoire!)
HELP!
If you know of an event that is specifically sensory sensitive, or that simply might be a good fit for those of us with special needs: please fill out our “Submit Your Event” form! If I don’t know it exists, but magically your form entry shows up in my inbox - I can plug it in! Please just check to make sure it isn’t by an organization that is already included in the list, so we aren’t duplicating and creating unnecessary work for ourselves.
H.A.G.S.!
As always, I am here. If you want individual help - reach out. If you are willing to share with me what you are seeking, I may be able to provide individual guidance as to which organization’s events may be a good fit for you… that’s why we are Autism Resource “Guide.”
Have a great summer (or as we used to write in those cheesy yearbooks of yore: “h.a.g.s.!”)
